Ask the big question: How do people from different cultures moving to America affect that area through immigration? Do a sticky-note discussion graffiti board.

Watch virtual tour of Ellis Island and discuss as whole class.

Invite people from different countries to come and speak to your students. Allow the students to ask questions.

Do a job fair.
List the individual jobs and their duties on a large paper, and put around the room. Have students go to the job they feel they can do best. Then pick one person from each group to make a family or team.

Diversity students

Be sure to mix the diversity of the students in each group.
Make sure to include print resources such as catalogs of business furniture, and classified adds from the news papers for research.
